When I look back at my life – the largest leaps in personal growth came during the worst distress. At those times I was forced by circumstances to stand; to hold my ground and face the worst. I was forced to clearly see myself, examine my behavior, beliefs or truths and take a step towards change.
Would I have grown as much; would my life and heart have expanded as much; if the distressing events hadn’t happened? Would a more gradual change have brought the same positive outcome? Would I have changed and grown on my own? Would I have the gifts, joy and love that I enjoy today? I will never know – as it wasn’t my reality.
The ‘ideal’ path to change is to live life with awareness. To make small adjustments, along the way. Gently easing in to the current, meandering along towards positive change. But, when events catapult you into a rushing river of events; remind yourself it is only temporary, it’s not forever – it too will change. Step forward into your new reality. Make a change for the positive. Take the event and re-shape it until it benefits you. Find the rainbow.
